How can TransporTeens help?

When parents have made the decision to place their struggling child in the care of a school or program the obvious question is often, “how can I get the child to the help they need”. Teens struggling with addiction, depression, compulsion or defiance to authority are generally resistant to their parents efforts to get them help especially of it means leaving their comfort zone. Parents are often confronted with a wide range of manipulative behaviors when they attempt to intervene, including bargaining, threats of harm to self or others, playing one parent against another and emotional blackmail. Intervention can be emotionally draining and, at times, physically dangerous for parents.

Bringing in an outside professional defuses all the manipulative behaviors and physical danger involved in moving a struggling youth from home to where they can get help. Our agents are kind and caring and, at the same time firm and insistent as well as being very physically capable. Because our agents have no emotional history with the families we serve they can be professionally detached from the manipulative efforts of the child and simply reply that they are just doing their jobs.

Our agents are well trained, experienced, and strictly follow procedures that have been well tested for success and safety in escorting struggling teens to their intended destinations. We communicate with our client parents, both, before a transport to prepare for a successful experience for both the youth and the parents, and during the transport to assure the parent that things are under control. We want the parents who entrust us with their children to have the assurance of safety and a job well done.
